  • Jigsaw Rätsel mit Vorteilen

    Ich mochte schon immer Rätsel; insbesondere die Rätsel zu Themen wie Logik, Wortschatz und Geometrie. Zum Beispiel Sudoku, Kreuzworträtsel und Jigsaw. Es gibt Websites wie Jigsaw Planet, die mir gefallen. Aber ich finde viele kleine Probleme mit ihrer Schnittstelle. Beispielweise ist das Bild unter den Puzzle-Kacheln oft nicht rightig sichtbar; oder die Farben des Bildes machen es schwerig, die richtige Position für die Kacheln zu finden.

    I’ve always liked puzzles; especially the puzzles on topics such as logic, vocabulary and geometry. For example Sudoku, Crosswords and Jigsaw. There are websites like Jigsaw Planet that I like. But I find a lot of small problems with their interface. For example, the image under the puzzle tiles is often not visible correctly; or the colors of the image make it difficult to find the right position for the tiles.

  • Züruck zum Schreiben!

    Hallo! Dies ist mein dritter oder vierter Blog; daher der Titel! In meinen vorherigen Blogs ging es um verschiedene Themen wie Science-Fiction, Wirtschaft usw. Dieser Blog dient jedoch insbesondere dazu, mein Deutsch zu verbessern.

    Hello! This is my third or fourth blog; hence the title! My previous blogs were about various topics such as Sci Fi, Economics, etc. But, this blog is especially for improving my German.

    Dazu nutze ich eine interessante Idee mit zwei Tabs von Google Translate. Im ersten Tab versuche ich, den Beitrag auf Deutsch zu verfassen; und Translate konvertiert es ins Englische, auch wenn meine Sätze falsch sind. Und dann ist die englische Ausgabe des ersten Tabs die Eingabe für den zweiten Tab, der sie wieder in richtiges Deutsch umwandelt. So sieht es aus:

    For that, I am using an interesting idea with two tabs of Google Translate. In the first tab, I try to write the post in German; and Translate converts it to English, even if my sentences are incorrect. And then, the English output of the first tab is the input for the second tab, which converts it back to proper German. This is what it looks like:

    Danach lese ich Satz für Satz die korrekte deutsche Version und versuche dann, sie hier zu schreiben, ohne sie noch einmal zu sehen. Es ist nicht einfach! Und oft muss ich es viele Male lesen. Dennoch hoffe ich, dass dies dazu beiträgt, mein Deutsch zu verbessern. (Außedem füge ich neue Worter zu meinen Karteikarten hinzu, damit ich daran denke, sie beim nächsten Mal richtig zu verwenden.)

    After that, I read the correct German version one sentence at a time, and then try writing it here without seeing it again. It is not easy! And often I need to read it many times. Nevertheless, I hope this will help to improve my German. (Also, I add any new words to my flashcards so I remember to use them correctly next time.)

    Eine andere Idee (an der ich noch arbeite) bezieht sich darauf, Wörter als Knoten in einem großen Diagramm zu sehen. Hoffentlich kann ich in einem zukünftigen Beitrag mehr darüber schreiben.

    Another idea (which I’m still working on) is related to seeing words as nodes in a large graph. Hopefully I can write more about it in a future post.
